Umckaloabo (Pelargonium sidoides) was used over the centuries as medicine, treating upper respiratory problems, including tuberculosis and gastro intestinal problems. In modern times it is widely used for treating colds, sinuses, throat infections and fatigue.

Cancer Bush (Sutherlandia microphylla) is from the Fabaceae plant family. It is the most profound African tonic plant, with medicinal uses going back to the original indigenous Khoi and Nama inhabitants of Southern Africa. Cancer bush tea is a unique immune system stimulant and anti-viral plant. Tea made from this plant has quite a bitter taste. A few drops of lemon and honey improve the flavor.

Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is a relaxing and mood enhancing tonic, used for hundreds of years by the indigenous population of Southern Africa. First record, dating back to 1662, where Kanna was used as bartering currency. The Kanna Plant contains a number of alkaloids, including mesebrine, mesebranol and serotonin.

Devil’s Claw Tea (Harpagophytum procumbens) is also an indigenous African plant. Tea made from this plant is used by the various herbalists for treating diseases of the liver, kidneys and bladder and also for arthritis and rheumatism. Devil’s Claw Tea has a mild, but bitter taste.

Buchu Tea (Agathosma betulina) was used by the original inhabitants of Southern Africa to treat stomach problems, rheumatism and bladder problems.   It is also described as an aromatic stimulant and tonic that promotes an appetite, relieves nausea and acts as a diuretic.  Buchu leaves contain volatile oils and also Bioflavonoids, Minerals and Nutrients. It is caffeine free, with strong aroma and taste.
