- Honeybush- South African farmers have experienced the worst drought and fire devastation in the last 50 years. Thousands of sq.miles /km were efefcted in 2009 amd 2010. We are therefore informing our customers about the fore casted shortages and the price escalation. It may take a few years for the production to come back to normal. Currently all the Honeybush is wild picked (it is not cultivated) however plans are on the way to start commercial cultivation soon and we should see a more, stable supplies in a few years time.
-For our busy customers – Rooibos tea extract is now available in vegetable based capsules. One capsule is equivalent to a cup of Rooibos tea. So now you can enjoy all the benefits of the product, in easy to digest capsules.
-Tips- possible usage of Rooibos tea
Use Rooibos tea as a base in marinades for meat and poultry, Rooibos is a natural tenderizer. Try Rooibos tea for extra flavor in sauces and to disolve stock cubes. Dilute powdered or frozen cold drink concentrates with Rooibos tea instead of water. Brew your own “special herbal tea blend, by adding spices, fresh herbs or lemon to Rooibos tea. Potted plants flourish on cold Rooibos, use leftover tea or used leaves. Eczema, skin irritation or diapper rash can be treated by applying cold Rooibos tea directly to the effected area. A cup of Rooibos tea before bedtime promotes a good night rest. Rooibos is very economical to use and the tea leaves or teabags could be re-used another time, without development of nay after taste, as Rooibos tea has a very low tannin content. Iced Rooibos can be kept in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
